Job Summary:

As a Finish Carpenter / Cabinet Installer, you’ll perform hands-on carpentry and installation tasks in various stages of interior construction. Projects are located throughout Wisconsin and may require occasional overnight travel (per diem and lodging provided). You’ll be responsible for ensuring installations are precise, code-compliant, and built to last.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Install interior and exterior doors (pre-hung, bypass, bi-fold, brick moldings)
  • Cut and install trim, casing, baseboards, crown molding, and scribe moldings
  • Install wall and base cabinets (flush, level, plumb with correct appliance openings)
  • Fit and install countertops (laminate, recaps, caulking to the wall)
  • Perform finishing work (nail hole putty, hardware installation, quality control)
  • Complete staircase work (treads, risers, handrails) according to local codes
  • Keep job sites organized, safe, and clean after each task
  • Coordinate daily with supervisors and crew members

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Finish carpentry and/or cabinet installation experience required
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to meet deadlines with precision
  • Proficiency with both power and hand tools, including:
  • Miter saws, table saws, drills, nail guns, compressors
  • Coping saws, tape measures, levels, chisels, utility knives
  • Ability to read measurements and perform code-compliant installations
  • Willingness to travel across Wisconsin (with occasional overnight stays)
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork


To succeed in this role, you must own and bring:

  • Cordless drill with bits (provided by HCI)
  • Tape measure (16’ or longer)
  • Hammer + tool belt
  • Coping saw (blades provided)
  • Utility knife (blades provided)
  • Nail sets, chisels, speed/combination square
  • Stud finder, pry bar, screwdrivers
  • Laminate files, vise grips, crescent wrenches
  • T-bevel, multi-tool, or pull saw
  • Knee pads (optional but recommended)
  • Drill driver, side nail cutter, 7/16” wrench
  • Work gloves
  • Hermans Construction provides all job-site materials (glue, nails, screws) along with larger tools and PPE to support your success.

 

Work Environment:

Hands-on carpentry and finish work in residential projects

Indoor and outdoor job sites, year-round

Must adhere to OSHA standards and company safety policies
